Kind Words About the Steiner Method

“It feels good to have an expert and someone who is invested in your well-being.”

Rebecca and her team have been integral in my recovery from and the prevention of injuries and key to my physical improvement.

As a yoga instructor, runner, biker and weightlifter the demands I put on my body are numerous. The experience and techniques inherent in the Steiner Method have aided in my healing from lower back pain and re-patterning of inefficient habits have made remarkable changes in both my daily life and physical athletic performance.

It feels good to have an expert and someone who is invested in your well-being. I look forward to continuing my development with the Steiner Method!

“Working with Rebecca has been life-changing. Her intuitive sense, her casual confidence, her ability to unlock anyone’s potential to heal is beyond any experience previously encountered.”

I have watched my husband, M Kalani Souza, respond amazingly to Rebecca’s work. The first time he went to see Rebecca, he was just learning how to walk after being paralyzed and then in a mobilized wheelchair for 2+ years. The before and after of this session was remarkable. Rebecca was able to “turn on” muscles that had not worked in years. Because we live in Hawaii, Kalani only sees Rebecca once a year or so when she is here. Every session there are huge shifts in how he can move his body.

Her work is powerful, addressing not only the physical, but mental, emotional and spiritual levels as well.  Kalani is able to see and feel the movement of energy on a level that most can not. I love to be in the room when Rebecca is working, I learn so much. As a bodyworker myself, I am always inspired by Rebecca’s sessions and I hope to one day study with her.

On Rebecca’s last visit, I was able to have a session with her too. She was able to address a chronic neck issue and abdominal tension that few modalities have been able to help. Rebecca understands the body so deeply and her early work with treating people with spinal cord injuries, gives her a unique foundation and genuine compassion for people dealing with chronic pain.

Working with Rebecca has been life-changing. Her intuitive sense, her casual confidence, her ability to unlock anyone’s potential to heal is beyond any experience previously encountered. Speaking for myself, I will take advantage of every opportunity to benefit from her capacity, commitment and caring approach to each moment as we heal.

“I had a new sense of optimism and confidence.”

Running is my passion. I have run over 30 marathons including 12 Boston marathons and over 15 ultramarathons. I am also a running coach so any injury impacts my professional life as well. In 2020, I started having hip pain that was so severe I had to completely stop running.

Before finding the Steiner Method I saw 12 medical professionals including physical therapists, chiropractors and orthopedic surgeons. Nothing helped and I was losing hope. My injury was more than physical at that point. I no longer felt like myself and honestly thought I might never run again.

After my first session with Rebecca in March 2021, I had a new sense of optimism and confidence. Her unique approach was unlike anything I had experienced before. She did very specific muscle testing, addressed all my imbalances and focused on my body and being as a whole rather than treating only where the pain was occurring.

I have no doubt that had I not met Rebecca, I would not be running today. I went from believing I might never run again to running my 13th Boston Marathon in April 2022. I would highly recommend that anyone who has not found relief from other conventional approaches try the Steiner Method.

2023 Update from RB:
Hi Rebecca! The Boston Marathon went well! I ran about 6 mins faster than last year : ) Thank you for all of your help! I wouldn’t be here without you.

“I have been swimming collegiately for the past season and a half without having any pain.”

I went to Rebecca Steiner for help with shoulder pain that I had for five years from swimming. Not only did Rebecca help me activate and access new muscles, she improved my swimming technique. She was also able to take into account the limited time frame I had and make the most of the few sessions we had together so that I could strengthen these new muscles and apply the new technique to other workouts after I moved away.

One year update: I have been swimming collegiately for the past season and a half without having any pain. I have been able to apply the Steiner Method and rethink the way I engage my muscles (and finished my last season with all personal bests!)
